Baby Care

When it comes to having their first baby, many couples probably have no idea what to expect, nor much about how to care for the baby when it arrives. Their level of knowledge will depend on their exposure to other babies, and the part they may have played in their upbringing; plus what they have read and asked about in preparation for the baby’s birth. For most Western couples, that really can mean they do not know what to expect from the arrival of their Bouncing New Baby.

Things are really quite different from my home country, England, here in the Philippines. People generally are crazy about babies here, and a new baby’s older siblings will usually be keen to play a part in baby care. If there is no older sibling, there will by a cousin nearby anxious to carry and look after the offspring. With this tradition, most new parents have a good idea of what baby care is all about, at least from the Filipino viewpoint; and when the baby is born, the parents know there will be a lot of people around to help.

Such enthusiasm to help, and such pre-knowledge and experience, with a new baby is less likely in Western countries, so it is down to the parents to learn all they can before the baby is born, and then as they go along.

2010 Audi e-Tron Concept information

Audi Concepts: Audi presents the highlight of the IAA 2009: the e-tron, a high-performance sports car with a purely electric drive system. Four motors – two each at the front and rear axles – drive the wheels, making the concept car a true quattro. Producing 230 kW (313 hp) and 4,500 Nm (3,319.03 lb-ft) of torque, the two-seater accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0 – 62.14 mph) in 4.8 seconds, and from 60 to 120 km/h (37.28 – 74.56 mph) in 4.1 seconds. The lithium-ion battery provides a truly useable energy content of 42.4 kilowatt hours to enable a range of approximately 248 kilometers.

The performance figures are by no means the only evidence of the consistent and holistic strategy. The design makes it clear that the e-tron belongs in the major leagues of sports cars, and the package takes into account the specific realities of an electric vehicle. The battery is directly behind the passenger cabin for an optimal center of gravity and axle load distribution.

The e-tron is able to freely distribute the powerful torque of its four electric motors to the wheels as required. This so-called torque vectoring allows for dazzling dynamics and an undreamed-of level of agility and precision when cornering.

Audi has taken a new and in some cases revolutionary approach to many of the technical modules. A heat pump is used to efficiently warm up and heat the interior. The drive system, the power electronics and the battery are controlled by an innovative thermal management system that is a crucial component for achieving the car’s range without compromising its high level of interior comfort. Networking the vehicle electronics with the surroundings, which is referred to as car-to-x communication, opens new dimensions for the optimization of efficiency, safety and convenience. How To Read And Understand A Credit Score Report

A standard credit score report is divided into four sections: identifying information, credit history, public records and inquiries. Identifying information is just the basics, such as name, address and social security number.

Look over this information to ensure it’s accurate because it is not unusual for there to be multiple spellings of your name or more than one Social Security Number. Your free credit report may also include your date of birth, previous residences, driver’s license number, your employer and your spouse’s name. Don’t worry about this information too much, as it’s all confidential and security-protected.

The main section to look at in your credit scores report is your “Credit History” or “Trade Lines.” Your accounts will fall into 1 of 5 categories: Real Estate (first and second mortgage), Installment (car loan, regular payments), Revolving (credit cards), Collection (seriously past due) and Other.

Each account will list the creditor/lender’s name and the account number. Sometimes, more than one account will be indicated on your report from the same creditor, especially if it gets sold off into collection, but only one account should be marked “open” at a time.

You should be able to see when you first started the account, the type of account, the total amount owed, how much you still owe, the status of the account (open, inactive, closed, paid) and how well you’ve paid the account. If it’s noted “charged off,” that means the credit made efforts to collect but gave up.

If you see a code like “R1,” then this generally indicates how well you’ve been at paying on a scale of 1 to 9. If you have had any late payments on your account, then you’ll see a little square with 30, 60, 90 or 120 in the box, indicating how late you were.

If you see a green OK and a 0, you’re in good shape with high scores. If you see “charged off,” “bad debt” or “placed in collections,” then your account went 120 – 180 days past due and was sold off to debt collectors. Charge-offs and Debt Collections are bad since these poor credit scores remain on your report for seven years.

If you find a mysterious account or an incorrect amount owing on your credit score report, then you can fill out an online form to dispute the claim. The most recent estimate indicates that as many as 80% of all reports have some kind of misinformation.

Financial advisers recommend that you keep up with your credit score and check up on it at least once a year to ensure accuracy. Now that you understand some of the sections and terms, you’ll be better prepared.

Charge-offs on your credit score report will be the #1 reason you are denied credit. Often, in order to qualify for new loans, you’ll be required to pay any unpaid charge-offs. Once you pay the full or partial amount, it will be noted “paid charge-off.” This will remain on your credit for seven years and 180 days from the date of your first nonpayment.

You can hire legal advisors who may be able to get charge-offs taken off your accounts. A company like Lexington Law Firm (“Lexington Law”) specializes in legally disputing and removing paid charge-offs to help you improve credit scores, which might be a good bet if you’re planning to buy a house or make a big financial investment.

Android-powered Lenovo OPhone O1

Good news, kids! It looks like Lenovo’s O1 “OPhone” handset is finally ready to hit the shelves over on the Mainland sometime next month. Truth be told, the story arc of this Android-powered 3G (TD-SCDMA) handset has been quite the emotional roller coaster: Some were riveted by the sleek, sexy physical design of the thing, while others were repelled by its intensely KIRFish UI. China Mobile is obviously hoping for big things from the little guy — and getting it into stores before Unicom gets the iPhone sorted can’t hurt. Either way, it looks like someone’s just taken a bite out of iOrgane’s market share! You may read more about oPhone at Buy oPhone and oPhone Review websites.
