Starting as a small local company in early 1898 Alcatel SA started its popularity path developing various electronic devices. Soon the products became known all over the world and the worldwide popularity was undeniable. The main question to be answered was how to make the products and especially Alcatel Phones more applicable and useful for the consumers. The decision was made to merge the company with a US company Lucent Technologies (December 2006).The renamed Alcatel-Lucent brand made a new success in the history of the company- having an enormous sale rise on Alcatel Phones.
