Pay as You Go Mobile Broadband is on the rise

Broadband Expert has recently released figures for October that show consumers who use Pay as You Go mobile choose it over contract mobile broadband. This is the first time that these results have been released.

During the month the results showed that 53% of the mobile broadband customers choose the Pay as You Go deals. This was compared to those who have taken contract deals, which was only 43%. Mobile broadband pay as you go is definitely becoming more popular.

The commercial director for Broadband Expert’s, Rob Webber, has said that he is sure this trend will continue. He stated that there has been evidence that that sales of Pay as You Go has not only risen quite sharply since the end of 2008, but that customers now realize that they do not have to enter a contract. They can simply pay for the exact amount of broadband that they will be using for that month.

This great trend is expected to keep going over the Christmas season. This is the time that contact mobile services see the same performance that is typical to Pay as You Go mobile broadband phones. This is why prepaid mobile broadband makes an excellent holiday gift. Many people are unable to get credit due to being under 18 years of age, and many older people don’t have good enough credit to be on a contract plan.

At T-Mobile a similar trend has been noticed. A spokesperson recently said that in the third quarter of 2009 there was a stabilization of the customers who choose contract mobile broadband. They enjoy the flexible pay-per-day as opposed to more lengthy payments. 20% of the sales are now prepay mobile broadband, and have seen an increase in 10% per month for the last three months.

63% of the mobile broadband sales in September of 2009 were also shown to be similar in research done by GfK Retail & Technology. This shows that more and more customers are choosing pay as you go mobile broadband.

James Bond’s new gadgets

Over the years, gadgeteer James Bond has had everything from radioactive lint (On Her Majesty’s Secret Service) to a wristwatch with a grappling hook inside (The World is Not Enough). Although we reported last fall that Bond wouldn’t have any delicious spy toys in the upcoming Casino Royale, it looks like the movie won’t, however, be entirely devoid of mobiles and gadgets. Here’s what we’ve heard thus far: Bond will get a new Nokia 8800 Aston Martin branded cellphone and his love interest, Vesper Lynd, will get a white Sony Ericsson K618 (or possibly a Sony Ericsson M600). Furthermore, Bond will have a very tense scene that involves an unreleased Sony Vaio, accompanied by a Sony Memory Stick Duo (are we sensing a theme here, Sony?). And yes, Bond gets a new ride (as always), rumored to be the new Aston Martin DBS. After we see the movie, we’ll be sure to spill a 40 martini for our man Desmond Llewelyn.

Android-powered Lenovo OPhone O1

Good news, kids! It looks like Lenovo’s O1 “OPhone” handset is finally ready to hit the shelves over on the Mainland sometime next month. Truth be told, the story arc of this Android-powered 3G (TD-SCDMA) handset has been quite the emotional roller coaster: Some were riveted by the sleek, sexy physical design of the thing, while others were repelled by its intensely KIRFish UI. China Mobile is obviously hoping for big things from the little guy — and getting it into stores before Unicom gets the iPhone sorted can’t hurt. Either way, it looks like someone’s just taken a bite out of iOrgane’s market share! You may read more about oPhone at Buy oPhone and oPhone Review websites.

The Latest Concept Mobiles

A concept is an idea or a plan that an individual concocts. It could be about the creation of something new or modifying something that already exists into better form. Concept mobiles are the mobile phones designed by the phone production companies as suggestions of the new products that they plan to launch in the market. Some of the world leading companies like Samsung go through a process before they release a new product in the market. They collect information from their customers on what the customers would like in a new concept mobiles phone. They manufacture a number of units for testing by various individuals in different parts of the world. These test units are called concept phones.

Concept mobiles are also displayed online so that the public can give comments about them and write what they think about the new phones that are yet to be released in the market. Some websites deal with concept items only. This makes them a one-stop shop for the concept. Other clients of the websites that display concept phones include Sony Ericsson. Many mobile phone companies use websites as platforms to introduce their concept mobiles because most people research on the internet before they buy their phones. The concept mobile websites are therefore conspicuous enough to inform the customers who are planning to buy new phones about the new models.

This trend has risen fast mostly among the internet junkies, they always research for the concept mobiles, and they buy these phones the moment they are launched in the market. Launching a concept phone online can guarantee the phone manufacturer a sale of over two million units from the people who love the concept phone. Concept phones give the customers the urge to get the phone and have the latest model. Concept phones are usually characterized by sleek shapes that include convenient shapes such as a bracelet shape. The phones come in smaller designs than the predecessor comes, have more features, many colors, latest technology, and improved efficiency in terms of power consumption and faster browsing speeds.

Concepts

There are two prevailing theories in contemporary philosophy which attempt to explain the nature of concepts. The representational theory of mind proposes that concepts are mental representations, while the semantic theory of concepts holds that they are abstract objects. Ideas are taken to be concepts, although abstract concepts do not necessarily appear to the mind as images as some ideas do.

A concept is a cognitive unit of meaning— an abstract idea or a mental symbol sometimes defined as a “unit of knowledge,” built from other units which act as a concept’s characteristics. A concept is typically associated with a corresponding representation in a language or symbology such as a word.

Currently many designers and engineers make their daily living by designing  concepts, that some day may turn into a reality. A few days ago I found a website called Concept Mobiles (www.ConceptMobiles.com). I noticed that they collect informormation throught various websites and feature them on the same page. They’ve got Mobile Phone Concepts, Car Concepts, Laptop Concepts, Gadget Concepts, Furniture Concepts.
